Originally from the suburbs of New York, Alex Yagilowich is an educator and interior designer turned interactive architect and maker. Her designs center on bringing novel interactive spaces to a broader audience, by providing tangible and recognizable concepts that can be easily understood or learnt. Specializing in 3D modelling + rendering, computation, machining, electronics, interaction, and fabrication methodologies for architectural space. Her recent works have been exhibited at Ugly Duck (UK), the Samsung Experience Store at Kings Cross (UK) and the Alternative Gallery (US).
A recent graduate from the Bartlett School of Architecture's MArch Design for Performance + Interaction course where she focused on multi-sensory cognitive and performative experiences and how they fit within the built environment. Prior to attending the Bartlett, Alex graduated from Drexel University's Interior Design BSc course in spring of 2016. By September of 2016, Alex was an adjunct professor at the Community College of Philadelphia teaching an introductory CAD class. The following two years, she continued teaching three other classes while at CCP, while also working part-time as an interior designer, photographer and CAD/CAM support technician.
